Daybreak duo put on four-day week (but their pay remains the same)

By Sara Nathan

Ratings flops: Daybreak hosts Christine Bleakley and Adrian Chiles

It cost ITV £10million to bring their celebrated ‘chemistry’ to its breakfast show sofa.

But just 11 months after launching Daybreak, Christine Bleakley and Adrian Chiles are being bumped down to four days a week – as ratings continue to plummet.

Chiles, who viewers are said to have found ‘grumpy’, and his co-star will now work just Monday to Thursday, although their generous pay packets are expected to remain in place.

Miss Bleakley, 32, joined ITV on a £4million, two-year deal, in June last year, shortly after her former BBC One Show co-host Chiles, 44, had signed a £6million, four-year contract.

The pair launched Daybreak amid great fanfare, but the show has not fared well with either viewers or critics.

Popular Kate Garraway – the sole presenter left from its predecessor GMTV – will step into Miss Bleakley’s place on the sofa on Fridays, while Dan Lobb will replace Chiles.

The move will take place in September after the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand, during which the show will be replaced by some early morning matches.

Last night an ITV source told the Daily Mail: ‘This is symptomatic of just how difficult things are on Daybreak at the moment.

We need to recapture the warmth of GMTV and viewers adore Kate, especially when she is teamed with Dan.

They haven’t taken to Adrian so well and they are only just starting to warm to Christine.’

ITV chiefs are desperate to revamp the show after ratings slumped to just below 700,000 viewers, less than half BBC Breakfast’s average of 1.5million.

As the Mail revealed in April, ITV found through polling that viewers were fed up with ‘grumpy’ Chiles and thought Miss Bleakley – engaged to Chelsea footballer Frank Lampard – was a ‘giggling airhead’.

Editor Ian Rumsey was axed last month, and even ITV chief executive Adam Crozier has admitted: ‘Daybreak has not performed as we would have hoped.’

ITV said last night the move to a four-day week was ‘always planned’ as part of the presenters’ contracts.

You'll send them ape! Tom Felton enjoys coffee and cigarette break with Jade Olivia sat next to a no smoking sign

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Coffee and catch up: Tom Felton was seen enjoying a break with his girlfriend Jade Olivia before he sparked up a cigarette

He has been working hard promoting his new film Planet of the Apes, so it seems Tom Felton relished the opportunity to grab a quick coffee and cigarette with his girlfriend.

But in his haste to relax the actor unwittingly sparked up right next to a no smoking sign.
Tom,23, took time out from filming a segment on a US TV show to spend time with his beautiful girlfriend Jade Olivia.

Coffee and fag break: The actor also enjoyed a cigarette while outside and looked around before lighting it

The pair were seen chatting together and drinking coffee in the sunshine before the actor lit a cigarette.

He then leant back against a wall, which clearly displayed a sign prohibiting the habit, before handing the cigarette over to his girlfriend.

The British Harry Potter star was sporting a healthy tan, in contrast to his pale skin of previous years which he had to keep for his character of Draco Malfoy.

Rule breaker: The actor brazenly leant against a wall which clearly displayed a no smoking sign as he enjoyed his cigarette

Earlier today Felton’s Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes co-stars James Franco, Andy Serkis, and Freida Pinto appeared on The View chat show to talk about the new film.

Franco, who split from his girlfriend-of-five years Ahna O’Reilly last month explained how he had to work intimately with a fake chimp for his role as a scientist.

Care to share: Tom gave his cigarette to his girlfriend who also decided to break the no smoking rule

Making the most of the time off: Tom, who showed off a healthy tan made the most of the time off from promoting his new film

King Kong actor Andy Serkis, 47, described how he enjoys playing animals and mythical creatures with high-tech 'performance capture' equipment.

He told The View hosts: ‘Put simply I wear a suit with lots of cameras and dots on it," he said. "So the acting is translated into the digital character that you see.’

More promotion: As Rise Of Planet of The Apes opens in the U.S. Andy Serkis, James France and Freida Pinto appeared on The View earlier today

Pinto, 26 admitted that after Slumdog Millionaire she was ‘living in fear’ that she would never get another film role and that if her acting career didn't work out she was set to become a wedding planner.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes is released in the US today and in the UK on August 12.

Back up plan: Freida admitted she was living in fear after the success of Slumdog and said that if acting didn't work out she would become a wedding planner

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Sticking together: (from left) Paris, Blanket, Prince and Prince's girlfriend Niki on a fun day out together at Six Flags Magic Mountain

The Jackson children enjoyed a day of roller coasters and games on a day trip to Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California.

The three children Prince, Paris and Blanket were seen having a blast on the rides and walking around the park together.

Whoosh! The kids hold on tight as they start to drop

They spent the day with their cousins Jaafar, Jermagesty and a few friends.

Prince even brought along his girlfriend Niki Berger. They looked a happy pair, holding hands and walking between the rides together.

The group were dressed in shorts and t-shirts for a day outside in heat of a California summer.

Hold on tight: The thrill seekers get ready for a 20-storey free fall

Six Flags Magic Mountain is home to the most roller coasters on the planet, so there were plenty of rides for the youngsters to choose from.

The thrill seekers were spotted grinning on the Déjà Vu ride, where passengers plummet a 20-storey free fall at 65 miles per hour and dangle face down as they climb a 90-degree tower.

Since their father the King of Pop died of 25 June 2009 aged 50, their family has been working to make their lives as normal as possible.

Bride has something old sorted as she weds in 127-year-old dress worn by her great-great-grandmother

By Daily Mail Reporter

Something old, something borrowed: Allison Shellito wore her great-great grandmother's dress for her wedding day - and it was still in almost perfect condition 127 years after it was first worn

On Allison Rinaldi’s wedding day she didn’t have to think twice about what her 'something old’ would be.

For even before her husband popped the question she knew when she said I do she would be wearing a wedding dress that had been in her family for 127 years.

Bought in 1884 for her great-great-grandmother’s wedding day, it has since been worn by her grandmother, aunt and mother too.

'I always knew I wanted to wear the dress,' 23-year-old Alison said.

'I even tried it on when I was a little girl.

'Not only did I think it was beautiful but I loved the sense of history which came along with it too and I am such a family kind of girl it meant a lot for me to carry on the tradition.

'My mum and grandma would always talk about what an amazing wedding days they had had while wearing it, so I thought it would bring me luck if I did too.

'And I was right as our wedding day was perfect and wearing the dress made it even more special.'

It was on June 11th this year when graphic designer Allison married graduate student Chris Rinaldi in St Louis, wearing the same dress as three generations of her women in her family had worn before her.

And there to prepare her as she squeezed into her historic dress was mum Mimi, 55, who had worn the very same dress 29 years before on the 5th June 1982.

Keep it in the family: Jean and John Shellito, who married in 1941 with Jean wearing the wedding dress that belonged to John's grandmother, Nellie, who wore the dress in 1884 for her own wedding

'It was so emotional helping Allison get into the dress, but utterly wonderful too as it made me recall my own special day,' says Mimi.

'Like me Allison was getting married on the university campus where she had met her husband, which is exactly what I did when I married her dad Jack.

'And I can safely say Allison’s day was just as wonderful as mine was.

'She had a few more guests than I did, but both weddings were full of joy and laughter.

'Allison looked amazing in that dress and it will be a day we all remember for a very long time.

'I just hope the dress brings Allison as much joy, love and happiness as it gave every other woman who wore it before us, as each of us went on to have long and happy marriages.'

The dress, of tone-on-tone ecru silk brocade patterned with flowers, was made in 1884.

Allison's paternal great-great-grandmother, Nellie Campbell, first wore it when she married A.G. Shellito in 1884 in Iowa.

Memories: Allison's mother Mimii also wore the dress on her wedding day in 1982 when she married Jack. 'It looked as stunning on Allison as it had so many years before when I wore it,' she said

But unlike Allison and Mimi, Nellie’s wedding was much smaller and held in the family home in Iowa.

Allison said: 'It always surprised me to find out Nellie had chosen such a grand dress for a wedding at her home.

'We don’t know much about the day apart from that it was on December 30th 1884 and no more than around 12 people attended.

'But she really must have felt like a princess to have worn such a dress in her own front room.'

The dress then skipped a generation, until Jean Lawman married Nellie's grandson, John Shellito in Iowa on December 26th 1941.

Jean was too frail to attend grand-daughter Allison’s wedding this year and sadly passed away two weeks after the ceremony, but Allison tells of Jean’s joy when she found out she was also going to wear the dress.

'Grandma had a long life and passed away in her sleep when she was 91, just days after my wedding, ' she said.

'And I know she wished she could have been strong enough to make it to the wedding as she was so excited to see the dress again.

Happy times: Allison's aunt Barbara wore the dress on her wedding day too. 'She loved seeing the dress in all its glory again, said Allison

'Chris and I made sure we told her all about it though before she passed and she was over the moon to hear how it had also made me as happy as it had made her on grandma’s big day.

'I asked her how she had come to wear it she told me before she died: 'It was beautiful, it was offered and it fit!

'She actually tried it on the night Pearl Harbour struck and then my granddad had to enlist, so they were married a few weeks later.

'Like me they also got married in a church and then after had a small reception at a hotel. '

Next to wear the dress was Allison’s mum Mimi Balazs Shellito when she got married in 1982 to Jack, now 58.

Mimi said: 'I loved the way the dress caught the light, it was just made of the most exquisite material I had ever seen.

'And that’s why it lasted and I am glad to say it looked just as stunning on Allison as it had so many years before when I had worn it.

'The dress just glowed and so did my daughter.'

Barbara Shellito of Boston also wore it, when she wed Jean's son Paul on July 12th 1975 in Wichita, Kansas.

Allison said: 'My Aunt Barbara was there on my wedding day and I know like my mum, it brought back so many happy memories of her wedding day when she married Uncle Paul.

'She loved seeing the dress in all its glory again.'

Considering its age the dress is in pristine condition thanks to it being lovingly stored in linen sheets for the past 127 years.

So much so Allison tells how she made barely any alterations to the dress on her big day.

The only thing she had to do was go on a diet so she could fit in it.

he said: 'The dress is just stunning and I would have loved it even if my mum and all my other relatives had not worn it.

'To me its vintage look is so modern and it just has this sheen which glows.

'And it is so different from all the usual strapless gowns girls today always seem to wear.

'My mum had some patching done to it before her wedding, but apart from that it was in perfect shape, it was just so well made and so carefully looked after.

'The only issue that at my age my mum was smaller than me so I knew it was going to be a tight fit to get in it.

'But before my wedding I dieted like mad and thankfully it fit me like a glove.

'The only thing I did differently was that I wore a bustle under mine.'

Allison could not have been happier with the results and neither could her doting new husband.

'Chris was a bit jealous that everyone had seen the dress before him, but he understood how important it was to me, ' tells Allison.

'And when I saw the look on his face as I walked down the aisle I knew I had made the right decision.

'He loved it and thought it was beautiful.

'He was so nervous though it took him a little while to register what I was even wearing, but once he did he absolutely loved it.

‘It was a magical day.'

Allison hopes if she has a little girl the tradition will continue and to ensure the dress continues to stay in immaculate condition she changed into a different dress for her reception.

'I would love nothing more than if I have a daughter she will want to wear the dress, ' said Allison.

'It's just got such sentimental value now for all of us.

'With that in mind I wanted to make sure I did not spill anything on it or tear it at the reception.

'And so I changed into a short 1960s cocktail dress.

'Amazingly after all these years nobody had split or torn the dress and I certainly did not want to be the first.

'Thankfully I managed to not get a single mark on it and now it is back wrapped in the linen cloth and in storage, safely put away until the next girl in our family hopefully wants to wear it.'

Ashton Kutcher will play 'Internet billionaire with a broken heart' on new series of Two and a Half Men

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Anticipation: It was announced today that Ashton Kutcher will be playing a billionaire with a broken heart on the forthcoming series

Speculation has been mounting about Ashton Kutcher's character in Two and a Half Men, ever since he was announced as Charlie Sheen's replacement earlier this year.

It was finally revealed today that the 33-year-old actor will play Walden Schmidt, an 'Internet billionaire with a broken heart,' on the new season of the hit show, which airs on U.S. network CBS this September.

Comedy king: New details have been released about Ashton Kutcher's Role in Two and a Half Men

But Entertainment President Nina Tassler would not 'confirm or deny' reports that Sheen's character Charlie Harper would be killed off.

She also refused to reveal any more details of how the series would continue without Sheen, commenting that keeping 'the mystery is part of the marketing.

All change: Kutcher will play heartbroken rich man Waldon Schmidt on the show, alongside cast members Jon Cryer and Angus T Jones

The script for the episode, according to Tassler, is as 'smart and funny and irreverent and risqué as the show has always been.'

And Kutcher seems to have already made a good impression.

'There is great value in hiring an actor like Ashton Kutcher,' she said. 'He is extraordinarily professional, talented, funny, and gifted.

Building anticipation: A billboard for the show features the cast members semi naked, advertising the start of the revamped show

Duchess of Cambridge leads the style set on Vanity Fair Best Dressed list with 'whirlwind of fashion successes'

By Daisy Dumas and Paul Thompson

Kate Middleton has been named one of the best dressed women in the world.

She was the star attraction of Vanity Fair magazine's annual International Best Dressed list for women.

The Duchess of Cambridge, who won rave reviews for the succession of outfits worn on her recent North America tour with Prince William, is recognised internationally for her elegant style.

Royal style: Kate Middleton, here seen at the Bafta dinner in LA wearing Alexander McQueen, wowed audiences on her recent State visit to North America

She joins Michelle Obama and Carla Bruni-Sarkozy as the most high profile women on the 72nd list compiled by the glossy magazine.

The magazine said of Kate: 'A whirlwind of fashion successes since has earned her a nod this year.

'She’s captivated the world with her signature mix of high and low fashion.'

First ladies: Michelle Obama, left, and Carla Bruni-Sarkozy impressed Vanity Fair again this year - both have made it onto the list before

She appeared on the list for the first time in 2008 and this year earns a place for the first time as a British royal. Vanity Fair notes her signature style of Issa wrap dresses and praises her Alexander McQueen wedding dress.

Other royals on the list include Princess Charlene of Monaco, the new wife of Prince Albert, and Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser, the wife of the Emir of Qatar and a UNESCO special envoy.

Two British stars, actresses Carey Mulligan and Tilda Swinton, who is the face of Pringle, are also named for their style.

Funeral for Charlie Sheen's Two and a Half Men character to air during season premiere

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Killed off: Charlie Sheen's Two and a Half Men character Charlie Harper will be killed off in the new season of the show

He was dramatically fired from hit comedy series Two and a Half Men earlier this year, to be replaced by Ashton Kutcher.

But Charlie Sheen's character in the series, Charlie Harper, faces a somewhat stickier end in the first episode of the forthcoming season.

According to reports, the jingle writing womaniser will be killed off, with cast members past and present attending his funeral.

All change: Ashton Kutcher takes Sheen's place in a new promo for the new season of Two and a Half Men alongside Angus T Jones and Jon Cryer

Deadline.com reports that the hotly anticipated episode will open with a memorial service attended by several of Harper's girlfriends.

His beach side home will then go on sale, with real life celebrities viewing the house.

This is then likely to lead to Sheen's replacement Ashton Kutcher buying the house with leading cast members Jon Cryer and Angus T Jones somehow remaining there with him.

The two-part season opener has been shrouded in secrecy with reports from Deadline that some scenes will be shot on a closed set.

Sheen has moved on to other projects and is currently developing a new comedy series Anger Management.

Royals on a shoestring: Air passengers stunned as Kate and Wills settle into budget Flybe seats, while Harry goes EasyJet

By Emily Allen

Weddings can be expensive occasions not just for the bride and groom - but for their guests too.

But it was perhaps surprising the learn that even three members of the Royal family were feeling the pinch this weekend when they chose budget airlines over private jets to make their way home from the wedding of Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall in Edinburgh.

Passengers were shocked to see the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge settle into seats with the rest of the public after boarding a Flybe jet in Edinburgh for their hour long journey to Manchester.

It is understood they flew with body guards - but went through the usual check in and security procedures.

Meanwhile, a hungover Prince Harry chose EasyJet to make his way home to London - although it is not clear whether he landed at Stansted, Gatwick or Luton.

The 26-year-old army helicopter pilot also flew to the Scottish city with the airline - checking in his green army-issue bag for £10 - after paying around £16.50 for the flight.

Flying high: Many passengers were shocked to see the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on board the Flybe flight to Manchester

News of the thrifty Royals will no doubt be welcome among taxpayers - millions of whom are struggling to make ends meet themselves with rising food and fuel prices as well as cuts to services.

During the recession the Queen urged her family to show restraint in the recession and to avoid overt displays of extravagance.

However, not all members of the Royal family are so purse-conscious.

Harry on a budget: The Prince arrives at the Palace of Holyroodhouse with his army-style bag after flying with EasyJet - his luggage label clearly on display

Prince Andrew - dubbed Airmiles Andy for his extravagant use of publicly funded travel - has a particular fondness for the Queen's helicopter which he uses to hop around in from engagement to engagement - at great expense.

Kate and William are understood to have sat with other passengers on their Flybe flight as the airline does not have a first class section.

They landed at Manchester because Prince William is based at Anglesey, where he carries out flying duties for the RAF and it is their nearest international airport.

Why pay more? Prince Harry flew with EasyJet to and from the wedding shunning his VIP lifestyle

The royal couple arrived at the airport at 7.40pm on Sunday after boarding Flybe flight BE298 - but they were quickly whisked off in a private car waiting for them on the airfield.

Flybe's one concession to extra luxury is Economy Plus where passengers are treated to complimentary drinks and snacks on board. Fares for the one way trip from Edinburgh start at £36.

One way flights from Edinburgh to Manchester with the airline start at £37.99.

Airport bosses spent £20,000 on a makeover for their Royal lounge.

Staff feared the exclusive haunt - the location of which is top secret - was lacking the wow factor and splashed out on a major refurbishment.

But they will have to wait a little longer to find out if it gets the Royal seal of approval - because the couple didn't enter the terminals this time.

A Manchester Airport spokesman said: 'With the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge living not too far away in North Wales, we were hoping to see them more often and become their local international airport of choice and we are looking forward to welcoming them through our doors over the coming years. We've even given our Royal Lounge a makeover in time for their next visit.'

FANCY FLYING ON A BUDGET AIRMILES ANDY?

If three Royals are happy to fly on a budget - maybe someone should have a word with Prince Andrew.

In May last year, the Duke Of York spent almost £5,000 on a helicopter jaunt to Silverstone – so he could race around the circuit in a Formula 1 car.

He chartered the Sikorsky S-76C to make a round trip of just 120 miles, despite the £4,700 bill. A first-class rail ticket, in contrast, would have cost £167.

In June 2009 he spent £2,000 on a helicopter flight so he could spend an hour at a party at one of his favourite golf courses.

He made a 226-mile round trip from Royal Lodge in Windsor to the exclusive Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club in Deal, Kent.

The cost of a return train ticket from Windsor to the golf club would have been just £30.70.

In October 2009 the prince flew himself to work in a £1,200-an-hour hired helicopter - with Buckingham Palace insisting it was the only way he could get through his six engagements.

In July 2008 the Duke went to the Farnborough International Airshow by helicopter - costing £6,000.

He left Kensington Palace in London and landed at Farnborough 15 minutes later and flew home four hours later.

Also that summer he spent £4,000 on a 146-mile helicopter trip to a number of official engagements in the same area

Buckingham Palace insists that all his travel details are arranged through the Royal Travel Office, which is independent of the Prince’s office.

...........................................................................................................

A spokeswoman for Flybe said she was unable to confirm if the couple flew with the company because the airline 'respects the privacy' of all its passengers.

An EasyJet spokesman said it could not disclose the names of any passengers either. A one-way flight from Edinburgh to London costs from £26 depending on when you travel.

Zara, 30, and her new husband Mike Tindall left the Palace of Holyroodhouse on Sunday, following their wedding - but it is not clear how they made their way home.

England rugby player Mike Tindall and his new bride Zara Phillips leave their wedding ceremony - many guests including three Royals travelled on budget airlines

From 'Cole Cappuccino' to 'Katona Karrot'... Pippa Middleton's 'Royal Mocha' leads the celebrity tan tone scale as the most desirable shade in Britain

By JESSICA SATHERLEY

Choosing the right shade of fake tan can be a tough decision, but it has been revealed that Pippa Middleton is influencing British women to opt for a ‘Royal Mocha’ tone this summer.

Miss Middleton's glow has been named the most desirable skin tone by a new study which discovered the most and least desirable celebrity tans of 2011.

And as Pippa’s complexion came out on top, Kerry Katona’s ‘Karrot’ look left her at the bottom of the heap of the celebrity tan-tone chart.

Live chart: The models became part of the world's first tan-tone window display boasting celebrity branded skin shades at The Really Buff Boutique in London's Soho

Cheryl Cole’s ‘Cappuccino’ tan was the second most popular hue, followed by Amy Childs’ ‘Essex Copper’, Christine Bleakley’s ‘Burnished Bronze’ and Katie Price’s ‘Pricey Pecan’.

And yesterday six bikini-clad women were modelling the celebrity branded skin shades at a pop-up beauty salon in London’s Soho area.

Ready for summer: The bikini-clad models show off their fake tans for summer by holding beach balls with their celebrity branded shades

A team of experts, led by tanning guru James Harknett, studied over 100 female celebrities over a three-month period to identify the total of six distinct shades favoured by the rich and famous.

More than 2,000 British ladies then took part in the poll to vote on whose tan came out on top.

Pippa’s gorgeous glow dubbed ‘The Royal Mocha’ nabbed a whopping 60 per cent of the votes, closely followed by Cheryl Cole, who achieved 26 per cent of votes.

Vanessa Feltz shows off the results of her gastric band as she slips into a little white dress for Devil's Double premiere

By Daily Mail Reporter

In good company: Reality shows collide as Lord Rob from Dirty Sexy Things accompanied Funda Onal to the premiere while Ben Ofoedu was dressed in a bizarre ensemble at the screening

She has slimmed down from a size 24 to a 14 after having a gastric band fitted.

And last night Vanessa Feltz showed off the results of the operation as she slipped into a little white dress for the London premiere of The Devil's Double.

The 49-year-old presenter displayed her noticeably slimmed down figure, as well as a deep golden tan, as she and fiancé Ofoedu arrived for the event in Leicester Square.

New figure: Vanessa Feltz displayed the results of her gastric band surgery as she slipped into a little white dress for the premiere of The Devil's Double in London last night. She has gone from a size 24 (right) to a 14

Vanessa underwent the £4,000 operation in Belgium last June after a surgeon relative recommended it.

However, the mother-of-two admitted in December the results of having the operation had been slower than she had hoped.

She said: 'I think I had this fantasy that the weight would drop off magically, but actually it was slower than I expected. It's going in the right direction though.'

On-trend: Rosamund Pike also wore white, which was featured heavily on the S/S 2011 catwalk shows

Vanessa wasn't the only one to opt for a white dress at last night's premiere.

Actress Rosamund Pike led the charge in a sparkling number cut just above the knee with tiny slashes on both legs, hemmed in with a smart slimline belt.

The 32-year-old finished off her outfit with a pair of black peep toe pumps and a miniature purse adorned with a zebra print patches.

In good company: Lord Rob from Dirty Sexy Things accompanied Made In Chelsea's Funda Onal to the premiere while Rick Parfitt Jnr brought his own pretty racy date

Meanwhile Made In Chelsea star Funda Onal stayed on-trend with a loose, low cut summer dress, nude peep toe heels and a salmon pink handbag.

She was accompanied by Lord Rob - a fellow reality star who appears in Channel 4's Dirty Sexy Things, which follows the fortunes of a group of models.

Rob also got in on the act with a white long sleeve T-shirt, though he opted for dark coloured jeans.

Golden brown: TOWIE's Lucy Mecklenburgh arrives at the premiere

The twosome later tweeted about their night, both excited at having met Latif Yahia, who the film is based on.

Rob wrote: 'Had great night at the devils double film premier with @FundaOnal, amazing amazing film, really outstanding.'

While Funda posted a photo with the caption: 'Met the original 'devils double' @latifyahia tonight what an inspiration! We could all learn a lot.'

Scarlet fever: Linzi Stoppard dazzled in a one-shoulder red dress with gold accessories in theme with the movie's poster

Essex and proud: Kirk Norcross poses with a couple of bikini-clad ladies at the premiere of The Devil's Double

Linzi Stoppard bucked the trend, choosing bright red for her showstopping number at the after party for the screening held at China White.

The violin-playing daughter of Tom Stoppard completed her eye-catching outfit with a pair of gold strappy wedge heels and a matching handbag.

TOWIE stars Kirk Norcross and Lucy Mecklenburgh also made appearances, alongside Rick Parfitt Jr and girl group Belle Amie - whose outfits were more suited to a festival than a red carpet premiere.

Festival fodder: X Factor finalists Belle Amie misjudged the event with their festival-style outfits

Also present was lead star Dominic Cooper - who also went for a slightly unorthodox ensemble comprised of a dark coloured blazer, white shirt, turquoise tie, light blue trousers and grey shoes.

The film is based on the true story of Latif Yahia's life as the double of Saddam Hussein's notorious and sadistic son Uday in Iraq.

Cooper said: 'Getting into the mind set was very hard because I despised Uday and I could find no redeeming quality, so it was about understanding what made that man the way he was.

I like this guy!: Latif Yahia and the man who plays him in the movie, Dominic Cooper

'Because there are truly no redeeming qualities, no moral code - so you really have no idea how someone functions like that.

'I looked at things like his relationship with his father and the fact that Saddam never thought him capable of any military stance, and certainly wasn't going to offer him the role of taking over power.

'So you understand the aggression and the hatred and the bile. That gave me at least a key to understanding the psyche.

'Not that it excused it but at least it gave me an understanding of who that man was.'

Yahia's family's lives were threatened unless he agreed to live with Uday in Saddam's palace and appear in public for him if his life was thought to be at risk.

Pictured: Michael Douglas and wife Catherine Zeta-Jones smoking... seven months after he beat throat cancer

By CHRIS JOHNSON

Up in smoke: Michael Douglas smokes what appears to be a cigarette while aboard a yacht in the Italian Riviera last month

In January Michael Douglas proclaimed he was confident he'd beaten throat cancer.

But as these photos show, it seems the 66-year-old is struggling to keep his nicotine addiction under control.

The Hollywood actor is seen here smoking what appeared to be a hand-rolled cigarette while aboard a yacht on a recent holiday in the Italian Riviera.

Double trouble: His wife Catherine Zeta-Jone was also seen puffing away during the break

His wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, who supported her husband through his stage IV cancer battle last year, was also clocked with a cigarette in hand during the break.

To many, the image of the couple smoking just seven months after Douglas returned to health may come as a something of a shock.

Hard habit to kick: A recent study showed that it is not uncommon for cancer patients and their family members to continue smoking after diagnosis

However, statistcs show it is not uncommon for people who develop cancer to continue smoking after diagnosis.

A recent U.S. study by Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center found that up to 18 per cent of lung cancer patients continue to smoke after discovering they have the illness.

And around 25 per cent of family members also kept up the habit, despite having watched their loved one's battle the condition.
