Geri Halliwell's fun cropped top unwittingly reveals her 'mummy tummy'

By Daily Mail Reporter

Flashing the belly: As Geri Halliwell went for a run yesterday her skin appeared to lost its elasticity as she ran along in a cropped T-shirt and shorts

It’s a side-effect borne by many mothers after giving birth to their precious charges.

And Geri Halliwell joined her former Spice Girl bandmate Victoria Beckham as she showed off her 'mummy tummy' in a cropped T-shirt as she went for a run in London yesterday.

The singer-turned-swimwear designer, who has been seen in recent months showing off her fabulous bikini body was seen pounding the pavement in the slogan tee and Jack Wills jogging shorts.

And the momentum of the running movement meant that the skin around her abdominals appeared to be slightly loose as she jogged along.

Earlier in the day Geri, 38, was seen teaming the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun crop top with a pair of high-waisted shorts as she strolled in the sunshine.

Geri is certainly not the only mother to be afflicted with the dreaded 'mummy tummy', as her former band member Victoria Beckham has also suffered from the problem - despite being super slim.

Mother-of-one Geri has been soaking up the sunshine on a string of jet-set holidays in recent months and she has showed off her incredible figure in a wide variety of bikinis, including some of her own designs for Next.

And not content with making a splash into swimwear, Geri Halliwell has turned her skills to dress design showing off her new floor-length dress range for the high-street store just last week.

Following in the footsteps of her former Spice Girl band member Victoria Beckham the singer in her new gown collection Geri by Next.

And it appears that Ginger Spice is makign a return to music and she has been in the studio compiling a new solo album.

'The album’s pretty much finished.' Halliwell told the The Mirror.

'I’m not sure on dates yet, and I won’t tell you what it sounds like, because I’d prefer to let the songs speak for themselves.

'But it’ll be great to be back where I belong, on stage. It won’t be long.'

The (petite) Queen of the catwalk: Geri Halliwell takes to the runway to launch her own line of red carpet ready gowns

Model strut: Geri Halliwell took to the catwalk earlier today to model her own new range of red carpet ready gowns for Next

Not content with making a splash into swimwear, Geri Halliwell has turned her skills to dress design.

And after showing off her incredible bikini body in her beach pieces the former Spice Girl took to the catwalk earlier today to strut her stuff in one of her own red carpet ready gowns.

Following in the footsteps of her former Spice Girl band member Victoria Beckham the singer in her new gown collection Geri by Next earlier today.

And Geri, 38, certainly looked red carpet ready looking simply stunning as she posed in one of the creations, a floor-length midnight blue gown.

The petite star added inches to her 5ft 1 height in high platform heels but was still dwarfed by the other models.

The mother-of-one showed off her deep tan, which has been acquired over the past month sunning herself in exotic locations with boyfriend Henry Beckwith.

Geri also appeared to have had hair extensions fitted for the collection debut and wore long honey blonde hair around her shoulders showing off her smokey eye make-up as she posed for pictures at Old Billingsgate market.

It appears that floor-length satin gowns are the theme of the six-dress collection and models were donned in black, scarlet, azure, mauve and oyster offerings.

Geri, who designed the collection in collaboration with high-street retailer Next, showcased simple spaghetti straps, ruched detailing and cowl necklines as she showed off her latest foray into fashion.

Speaking about the new line the former Spice Girl said: ‘I’ve been sketching everything myself and I’m thrilled with the results. I’ve had the opportunity to make dresses that are not stupidly expensive but still elegant enough to wear to an upmarket event.’

New line: Geri, who has previously designed a swimwear range for the retailer, showed off the varied colours and styles of the floor-length gowns, which will be in stores later this year

'So excited to share my red carpet range with you! I designed it especially for real women, to make you feel fabulous for that special occasion, you deserve it. See you on the red carpet!'

Geri has already collaborated with Next on her successful swimwear range, and showed off her incredible beach body in the advertising campaigns.

While Geri’s fellow Spice Girl Victoria has proved herself as a fashion designer with a burgeoning brand and large celebrity following, Miss Halliwell’s range will be much more reasonably priced compared with the thousands it costs for a VB frock.

Geri by Next consists of six full length occasion dresses which will be available from early October 2011 starting from £89 in sizes six to 22.

Spot on! Geri has been enjoying a number of holidays with boyfriend Henry Beckwith in the past month, seen here in Sardinia last week
